What is peak oil and why bother?

20 years ago, a geologist and respected by the name of Hubbert proposed a radical new theory now known as "peak oil", which basically says that at any point in the late 20s or early 21st century more or less, the amount of easily recoverable oil in the ground which had been used by man is above 50% oil in the ground. His theory is that after this called "summit" Hubbert's oil reserves would be reduced so spectacular. Not because there was no oil, but simply because we have all the easy things first. What would be very difficult and costly extracting oil from deep water, oil extracted profitably shale and other deposits here.

Although this does not sound so wrong to think this: If we assume that the car appeared in around the early 20th century, then we used half the available oil in about 80. However, it should be noted that most of those 80 years, most people on earth had little or no access to motor vehicles. China, for example, was hardly a developed country, for the most part. United States uses about 25% of all oil produced on earth and yet few of its own reserves. It is almost entirely dependent on imported oil. Extraordinary growth of China over the last ten years have seen an explosion of national wealth the demand for motor vehicles is growing at an alarming rate. With a population more than double the U.S. there is no way that China has access 50% of oil in the world!

The energy wars

Many leading oil experts discussed Hubbert's theory, however, many others agree with him. Some experts have even said that peak oil in 1985, around 2005. However, the debate about whether or not we have reached "peak oil roared 'and is rejected by most oil companies worldwide. In any case, the fact is that oil price increases, and with that is if the price of petroleum products and most others that we use. Many see the problem as manifested in the struggle for the last great oil reserves in the Middle East. For consumers like you and me, this means higher prices and cost of operating a motor vehicle is too high to contemplate. Another major cost for us in these days is the cost Energy for your home or business. Imagine a world where power is only available on certain days or hours. Some poorer nations live with this reality now. This is not science fiction!

Global warming in the Age of Oil

I have read several reports predict that the oil age will be a blip very small in the chronology of human history. It can last 200 years, probably not even that long. However, the debate on the environmental impact of burning fossil fuels has been raging almost daily in newspapers and on the world of television. Although it appears that any expert claiming the effects of global warming, there is another whole qualified experts also strongly condemns the same effect. It appears that most of us now recognize that a century of pumping emissions hydrocarbons in our atmosphere has been no derogatory effect on our natural environment. We can not continue to dump effluent in the air I hope it will not affect us. This is another reason why sources of alternative energy must be developed, which are renewable and have little or no impact on the environment. The most obvious sources of clean energy green renewable energy are solar and wind.

Well what can I do?

First, the only thing we can do to offer Oil is down to less use of it both as individuals and for the whole race of man all the way! The alternative is to find more effective ways to convert oil to power our cars and power plants.

On a personal level, it would be prudent to take certain steps to provide your family with the assurance of energy. "What I mean is think of you build your own energy. The basis for solar and wind energy has been around for many years. There are systems Commercially available solar energy systems of wind power, which work very well, are well designed and provide years of energy Green free. For most of us, however, the initial cost of manufacturing and commercial systems installed will be prohibitive. But this is not you need to get off. There are many DIY books, guides and videos on the Internet that offer a cost effective way to ensure future energy your family. Shop around and you're Keen, you will find that the solutions are fairly simple. It only takes motivation, a little skill and staff maintenance can not only save a little money, but you can do your part for a greener world more energy efficient.
