But Surfactants slowly degrade and are of low to moderate toxicity. It also helps the absorption of other ingredients into the water so keep this in mind.

This is a huge part of the problem with asthma, this is another step that I found to be just as important as the diet you hold, such chemicals are used in your everyday life without you knowing it.

Get some natural biodegradable laundry soap from a natural grocery store, its not cheap but again how bad do you want change? Be sure that you check your ingredients of what you buy if it says PEG or Blue 1, Yellow 5 don't use it don't use it if it says Artificial Fragrances (or any other one that I mentioned).

Keep your-self aware of what you use and put on your skin or surround yourself with!

Organic Chemistry - Acid-base Transition State?

I'm having trouble interpreting this image:

I understand what acids and conjugate acids are, but I'm not sure how to read the image. I know ammonia is the weakest acid, but there's a lot of stuff going on. Like, I'm not sure whether to read the acids as NH2- or NH3 or CH3CH2O- (ethoxide) or CH3CH2OH (ethanol).

Using this pKa table - http://i38.tinypic.com/2u9u49k.gif - I'm supposed to figure out what in the image is 1) the conjugate acid and 2) acid. K>1

It will be your choice as to which will be the acid and base provided you pick consistently. The transistion state tells you what species must be present.

NH3 + EtO(-) <--> NH2(-) + EtOH
This is the same equilibrium as:
NH2(-) + EtOH <--> NH3 + EtO(-)

The equilibrium favors the weakest base, ethoxide.
