ethanol fuels
The search for alternative fuels to power our cars was caused by several achievements that took place at different times. Some time ago it was recognized that fossil fuels, despite excellent short-term sources of energy, light and heat, it burns properly and that its use due to contamination of a type that, if unchecked, could have dangerous consequences for our planet. It is also recognized that fossil fuels are not renewable. Although this can not be a problem immediately - no doubt it there is enough fuel for your car to work tomorrow - the speed at which we use fossil fuels mean that a time when nothing remains.
She is reaching the point where sources of alternative fuels are no longer just something that speaks to environmentalists, and discussed the idly well-meaning consumers who nevertheless continue to use fossil fuels. It reached the point where alternative fuels are A if we are not necessary and indispensable depleting natural resources that exist on the surface of the earth. At some point, oil companies will run at the drill - and when they do, so be prepared. This recognition is in order, slower in some parts of the world than in others. A place where the importance of alternative fuel supply recognized is Brazil, where now most new cars sold run with fuel hose.
Brazil has in fact run flexible fuel vehicles in some capacity for over thirty years. Early was done by mixing 20% 80% ethanol to gasoline. However, as technology improved, the stage is reached in many vehicles in Brazil run mainly or entirely by ethanol. This is not the end, of course, as it is now moves up to develop the bikes fuel flex too. In fact, the first is already on the market - the Honda CG 150 Titan Mix.
She May surprise many to know the identity of the countries use more fuel ethanol in the world last year. This country was the Kingdom - United States America. This should not be a big surprise, perhaps, because the quad - the first car developed by Henry Ford, Model T before - Ran on ethanol. Although the Model T itself is capable of operating on a mixture of ethanol and gasoline.
Some cities and U.S. states now require the use of ethanol - for general from crops like sugar cane and maize - On fuel sold by its service stations. At present it is considered that the fuel is best used in light vehicles and the difficulty driving something more substantial than a 4x4. However, it is expected that application of science can do that using ethanol inside and the advent of an age where we no longer depend on fossil fuels. That day is near, but not there yet.

Could be deprived of people to give our fuel ethanol?
Pure ethanol is less efficient than gasoline. If the vehicles are operated on pure ethanol and 100% ethanol from maize, the amount needed to fill tank size SUV should be enough corn to provide thermal energy needed to feed one person for one year. - And vehicle mileage would be about 2 / 3 gasoline, so the large tank is needed in small cars. Let us die of hunger in the world or drive our cars, or not use of ethanol in all and continue the search for better alternatives?
Yes, we die hunger, and seems to know why. A U.S. attempt to run entirely on ethanol from corn to find transport to convert each amount of land available for maize. We can not grow year corn all year, are we supposed to fill and we hope that our steps destroyed by locusts? What if a snowstorm or drought comes. We all know that food prices in May fluctuate with crop losses. You want fuel prices fluctuate even more savage than the gas now? I say that the use of diesel (129.800 BTU per gallon) that generates more BTUs per gallon of gasoline, same (114100). Ethanol produces about 76,100 BTU per gallon, which is unfortunate as compared with current fuels. When cells become larger and denser capacity, perhaps the electric car will finally dawn. For now, I say keep looking.

The Great Corn Ethanol Ripoff (Hardcover) $13.16 In this in-depth, fact-based evaluation, Ken G. Glozer provides a detailed political history of how the United States ended up with current federal corn ethanol policy. Part I relates the significant external events that have driven the politics that in turn has driven the policy since 1977. He answers important questions about when the policy started, how it evolved, what were the major political and market forces that drove it, and, most important, who were the key officials that formed and shaped the policy.  Part II of the book contains an in-depth objective evaluation of the major claims made by those who have advocated the ethanol policies during the past thirty years. Glozer uses his analytic, policy evaluation skills, honed during his twenty-six years with the White House Office of Management and Budget, to probe how well the ethanol policy has worked compared to the claims made by two presidents, three federal agencies, ethanol producers, and the corn and soybean growers. The author presents the results of an evaluation of the Renewal Fuels Standard, which was first enacted in 1975 then doubled, to a mandatory 15 billion gallons of corn ethanol blended into the nation’s gasoline supplies. His surprising finding—that federal ethanol policy has little to do with energy and everything to do with wealth transfer—is particularly compelling because, after three decades of federal subsidies, trade protection, and, most recently, mandated ethanol blending, ethanol remains uneconomical. Also, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration, ethanol never has and never will have a significant impact on petroleum imports compared to what could be achieved under a comp |

Thermochemical Conversion of Biomass to Liquid Fuels and Chemicals (Hardcover) $218.84 There is increasing recognition that low-cost, high capacity processes for the conversion of biomass into fuels and chemicals are essential for expanding the utilization of carbon neutral processes, reducing dependency on fossil fuel resources, and increasing rural income. While much attention has focused on the use of biomass to produce ethanol via fermentation, high capacity processes are also required for the production of hydrocarbon fuels and chemicals from lignocellulosic biomass. In this context, this book provides an up-to-date overview of the thermochemical methods available for biomass conversion to liquid fuels and chemicals. In addition to traditional conversion technologies such as fast pyrolysis, new developments are considered, including catalytic routes for the production of liquid fuels from carbohydrates and the use of ionic liquids for lignocellulose utilization. The individual chapters, written by experts in the field, provide an introduction to each topic, as well as describing recent research developments. |

Ethanol Molecule $16.99 Ah, glorious ethanol, aka ethyl alcohol. How we love you. We would count the ways, but we can't remember them all. And even if we could, we like to count on our fingers, and we might not have the motor coordination for that right now. So we'll leave the exact number of ways we love you unsaid. But it's a lot. Our artist figured ethanol deserved slightly different treatment than our Caffeine Molecule, Capsaicin Molecule, and Chocolate Molecule designs. The ancient Egyptians may have had 17 different types of beer, but it wasn't until 1808 that Nicolas-Théodore de Saussure determined ethanol's magical chemical formula, hence our established on date for the molecular structure. This is a black, 100% cotton t-shirt. The ethyl alcohol moleculecular structure is emblazoned in white on a red emblem encircled with a golden-yellow edge and flanked by stalks of blessed grain, the fermentation of which presumably led to the alcohol molecular structure shown. Beneath is a banner of the same yellow which reads "Est. 1808 - Saussure." |

Bio-Fuels $50 One of the most challenging issues being faced by the developing countries in the twenty-first century, having about their 70% of population staying in rural areas, is how to simultaneously attain energy security, economic growth, poverty mitigation and environmental protection for all citizens. These concerns have lead to research for bio-fuel to overcome the above said problems. In India it is not possible for all to get absorbed in government/private services, it will be a wise step to go for self-employment whatever may the situation/limitation be. Also bio-fuel industries appear to be better substitutes than fossil fuel and can eliminate the problem to a great extent. However the main concern with bio-fuel is its high costing therefore selection of total quality rural based bio-fuel system is to find ways and means to solve the related problems. The book deals with rural employment and strategies of bio-fuel concerned with marketing, finance, production, cultivation, logistics, transportation, information, quality management, supply chain and material handling etc. The book will be a ready reckoner for engineers, students, academicians and researchers in the field of economics, agriculture, extension education, alternate energy and rural development. |
