Roush has recently introduced the first dedicated propane powered F-150 pickup truck that is equipped with an advanced injection liquid propane (LPI ™) system. The F-150 Roush LPI ™ is designed and manufactured to operate solely on propane while providing the same power, torque and handling like an F-150 equipped with a gasoline engine of 5.4 liter 3-valve Triton ™ V8.

Roush has already started taking orders for propane F-150. Not only that, the truck model year 2007 can now be ordered, delivered and serviced through a nationwide network of some Ford dealers.

The Roush F-150 is available in Regular Cab, SuperCab and Crew Cab cab styles with XL or XLT trim and the full range of lengths cash. The LPI ™ option includes lines specific fuel propane, fuel tank and the fuel assembly. The computer board was set to provide optimum performance and fuel economy.

The base LPI ™ option is priced at $ 6,500 and includes a one-of-a-kind toroidal tank mounted in place of the underbody spare tire. For customers who wish to increase the range, a 50 gallon tank in the bed is offered in option.

The F-150 LPI ™ Roush made his debut in recent NPGA Southeastern Convention and International Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference held last April 14 to 17 years and was considered one of the largest conferences propane industry in the United States. According to Tom Arnold, director of alternative fuel products for Roush: "Aside from its superb engineering, this car is here now! This is a vehicle alternative fuel that has a refueling infrastructure in place to support it. This vehicle will have a positive impact on reducing emissions and our dependence on foreign oil. "

Rail LPI ™ fuel assembly consists of two aluminum bars machined injection propane fuel, a single cross-over, a combined pressure sensor, temperature, and a service port that provides data the computer engines produced more precise control of fuel in the port of entry. Roush also use fuel injection systems and fuel storage provided by CleanFUEL USA and ICOM, Italy. In fact, LPI ™ is a registered trademark of the U.S. CleanFUEL.

The toroidal fuel tank and standard option in the fuel tank include a special bed, high flow fuel pump, dual filters effect, and the valve control requirements necessary to operate the motor. The deposit also contains the fuel sender and stopping electronic automatic filling system. Refueling is done through the cap of the fuel tank and an automatic filling stop prevents overfilling. This process allows the vehicle to be filled without using the drain system that vents fumes during filling of propane. Fuel is also filtered before it is made to enter the tank.

Top of vehicles is controlled by a tactile system for the driver in the fastest possible start and minimal emissions. The OEM engine control is used with calibration values only to respond to changes in properties from gasoline to propane. The maintenance schedule for Roush F-150 LPI ™ is similar to that a program of regular gasoline engine only, no special oils or change intervals required. The F-150 LPI ™ Roush as any what truck can have a look further enhanced with the addition of protection Hood. Shields Hood are the latest accessories Other transport.
