This month BV Business Center comes to your attention with a new interview bringing you Mr. Robert Johnson, a model business man from Belgium, owner of Aqua Quality Solutions. The story of a business man which had a taught life growing up in a poor family, but that never stopped learning in order to achieve his goals because like he says “knowledge is the path to greater things”. Really good story which I promise you will enjoy.
Please tell us in a few rows the story of your life, like where were you born, where did you spend your childhood, which schools did you attend to?
Born in England during the 50’s and being the only boy in a family of 7 girls, with a strict Father and even stricter schooling life was not easy. Never enough money for food or heating, so hunger and cold were something I got used to. This situation gave me a strong desire to learn as much as possible because knowledge is the path to greater things.
Describe in a few word your business industry and also describe your company and it's activity
My business industry is Commercial and Industrial Water Treatment. This includes Rain water, well water and drinking water.
My Company employs at the moment 4 people and two external agents. Part of our activity is problem solving and water treatment installations such as iron and calcium removal systems.
Our two main activities are Cooling Tower treatment and Legionella eradication in Hotels, Hospitals, and food processing
What would be the key to your success and what are the steps you took in achieving this?
I think the key to success is determination. Determined to be better. Determined to know more and determined to achieve the goals I set for myself. To achieve this education and hard work are primary. Evening school to learn Management, Insurance law and Accountancy. During the day, four different jobs to earn enough money.
Everyone has some basic principles which they use to guide themselves in business. What are your principles?
Honesty, Never tell your potential customer something that is not true.
Punctuality. Always be on time for an appointment.,
Service. Stay in touch with your customer. If he calls because of a problem, visit him within 24 hours to help solve the problem.
Which was the biggest business deal you ever made?
Thanks to the service I gave one customer several years ago, the same customer will be signing a contract at the end of October this year for installation of our systems into all of his buildings for the next two years. Value of the contract is in excess of 1M euro.
Which was your biggest failure in business?
My biggest failure was to regularly check on the progress and administration of the invoicing manager. This eventually cost me several thousand euro’s.
What are you business plans in the future? Will you extending your activity in other business industries as well?
My future business plans are for expansion into the surrounding EU countries. My ultimate goal would be having an office in every EU country. To do this we are already looking for other entrepreneurs, companies and even agents who are prepared to start something new and exiting.
In your own opinion which would be the successful business industries in the future and why?
Definitely the most successful companies in future years will be the ‘Green’ Energy and Water companies. To reduce our carbon footprint we cannot rely on gas or oil. Other means of Energy such as solar or wind will be the future big businesses.
Water is becoming more and more scarce. Only companies that can offer water saving systems, such as my own company, will profit.
What is your take on the consultancy business and what do you know about the consultancy market in Romania?
Before entering into any new market it is necessary to be aware of the rules and regulations of that market. A ‘competent’ local consultancy company therefore should be the ideal partner to assist and advise.
As with most European countries, different organizations have different working methods. I am familiar with consultants in the Benelux, but not with Romanian, although I have a feeling that BV Business Center is going to be a major player in Romania in the short future. Certainly they will be my preferred choice.
Could you offer please a few advices for the future to the young Romanian entrepreneurs and also to the Romanian companies?
My advice to young Romanian entrepreneurs would be: -
Always be on the look-out for something new, -
Don’t try to solve a problem… solve the cause of the problem, -
Be honest and straight to the point, -
If it is worth taking a risk, then it is worth risking it.
For Romanian Companies.
Water and Energy are two major company costs. My company can help reduce those costs.
Prefer European suppliers against American or Asian.
Companies earn more profit from employees that are well paid. So pay them what they are worth.
Some final words.
Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom. (Albert Einstein).

Wind Energy Equipment in India $195 How to Strategically Evaluate India. Perhaps the most efficient way of evaluating India is to consider key dimensions which themselves are composites of multiple factors. Composite portfolio approaches have long been used by strategic planners. The biggest challenge in this approach is to choose the appropriate factors that are the most relevant to international planning. The two measures of greatest relevance to wind energy equipment are “latent demand” and “market accessibility”. The figure below summarizes the key dimensions and recommendations of such an approach. Using these two composites, one can prioritize all countries of the world. Countries of high latent demand and high relative accessibility (e.g. easier entry for one firm compared to other firms) are given highest priority. The figure below shows two different scenarios. Accessibility is defined as a firm’s ease of entering or supplying from or to a market (the “supply side”), and latent demand is an indicator of the potential in serving from or to the market (the “demand side”). Framework for Prioritizing Countries. Demand/Market Potential Driven Firm. Relative Accessibility. Accessibility/Supply Averse Firm. In the top figure, the firm is driven by market potential, whereas the bottom figure represents a firm that is driven by costs or by an aversion to difficult markets. This report treats the reader as coming from a “generic firm” approaching the global market – neither a market-driven nor a cost-driven company. Planners must therefore augment this report with their own company-specific factors that might change the priorities (e.g. a Canadian firm may have higher accessibility in Canada than a German firm). Latent Demand and Accessibility in India. This report provides a detailed overview of factors driving latent demand and accessibility for wind energy equipment in India. Latent demand is largely driven by economic fundamentals specific to wind energy equipment. This topic is discussed in Chapter 2 using work carried out in India on behalf of American firms and authored by the United States government (typically commercial attachés or similar persons in local offices of the U.S. Department of State). I have included a number of edits to clarify the information provided. Latent demand only represents half of the picture. Chapter 2 also deals with micro-accessibility for wind energy equipment in India. I use the term “micro” since the discussion is focused specifically on wind energy equipment. Chapter 3 is also a stand-alone report that I have authored. It covers proxy pro-forma financial indicators of firms operating in India. I use the word “proxy” because the provided figures only cover a “what if” scenario, based on actual operating results for firms in India. The numbers are only indicative of an average firm whose primary activity is in India. It covers a vertical analysi |

South Africa: Wind Energy Barriers $51.99 Hauptbeschreibung The rapid adoption of wind energy in the renewable energy mix can be seen in many industrialized nations in the past decade, in particular the need to agreed greenhouse gas reduction and stable energy supply are seen as a sound vision for a sustainable energy policy'. In an emerging market such as South Africa there are abundant renewable resources including wind energy, however there is low adoption observed to date. This study investigates barriers to entry in the South African wind energy sector and what the priorities are to remove such barriers for successful deployment of wind technology. Therefore, it was required to examine successful deployment of wind energy in the European Union and how such barriers were removed; this was set in the current status of the renewable energy sector and existing barriers in South Africa. It was necessary to gain insight of the inter-related issues on opening a traditional fossil fuel based energy market to a transitional implementation of renewable energy provisioning, considering the current utility monopoly based energy landscape in South Africa. Biographische Informationen The author works in the area of Global consulting in Environment, Infrastructure Utilising Renewable Energies multiple sectors. He is also published author on Zimbabwe's Heavenly Ruins investigating the building architecture and connections in ancient history. |
